Hello to all. I'm new here, my name is Gina. I've recently been diagnosed with PCOS at age 39. I've had the symptoms since my preteen years but, it wasn't diagnosed. I suffered for a long, long time. I went to several Drs. all of whom told me I just needed to lose weight, and put me on BCP. In 2001 after seeing an endocrinoglogist, I was so tired of hearing the weight loss speech. I went off the pill, went on a crash diet and lost about 50 lbs. I started working out. I felt great. my periods got somewhat regular for the for the first time ever. I had electrolysis, so the facial hair was under control. I went back on the pill. My husband and I decided we wanted to have a baby. I went off the pill and I was pg the following month. In June 04 we lost our baby . No cause was found. In October 04 I was pg again. We lost that baby in Feb. 05. Two weeks after losing my son, my Dr. mentioned my PCOS. (she had not been my Dr. before this m/c). She just assumed I knew I had it. Now I'm finding out that women with PCOS have a higher rate of miscarriage. I also just learned on Friday that I have a clotting disorder that can cause m/c. I am devastated. On one hand I'm glad to know there is a reason for the symptoms, but, one the othe hand, I wish I'd know before getting pg twice. I would like very much to talk to anyone who has anything similar happen to them. I really need advice. Thanks, Your Cyster Gina
