I've been to so many Dr's who are quick to put me on the pill to "control" the PCOS symptoms, but honestly I don't notice a difference (other than even more mood swings). Has it worked for any of you?

I have never felt that BCP's helped me very much other than bring on my AF. By treating myself without them, I know when I am O'ing on my own - which even when not TTC'ing is a good indication that my symptoms are being managed.

Honestly it seems like it is making things worse for me! I'm having bleeding episodes, and I'm in awful pain. Damn PCOS.

Katie, what kind are you on? I took Yasmin for a couple of months and that combined with Glucophage did wonders for my PCOS. I am just starting back on the gluc and will be adding the Yasmin back in a couple of weeks. This combo really worked for me but I had to get off of both due to no insurance and no money.

I have insurance, but they don't pay for it! I've been on three different types since I had Dillon. First was the patch, but I started bleeding while it was on. I don't remember the kind after the patch, but it was the one I had to take every six hours to help control the bleeding until my D&C. Now I am on Ovocon. I'm not sure how this one will work since I just started it Sunday.

I hate birth control pills. My ob/gyn had me on 5 different kinds in one year and none of them worked. If anything, they made things worse. I was bleeding every two weeks. I finally got tired of birth control pill roulette and stopped taking them all together. This was before my PCOS diagnosis. I haven't taken any birth control pills since my diagnosis. I just take my Metformin and I'm getting AF every month. I won't say like clockwork because it isn't, but she hasn't missed a month yet. I hope you can find something that works for you.
