I have a Drs appt on Thursday. I am taking bcps right now but I get horrible migraines for days at a time. So I am going to ask her about that. Do you guys know if there any way to perserve your fertility. That is what I want to know. I want to be able to have kids. Also, there is not a med out there that treats all symptoms right? But they can prescribe to treat each symptom? Any help or additional info that I could ask about would be greatly appreciated. Michelle

Did you ever ask your doctor about taking Gluc/Met? I'm on it and it is really helping me. As far as I can tell it is working on all of my symptoms. If you haven't asked about it yet you might consider it.

We have some really interesting research articles on just about everything. It may be good info for you to take to your doctor.

Three months isn't really long enough to see if met will work. You need atleast 6 months to give it a good try. Also she needs to go by your test results and not just your cycle to determin if met is working or not.

Honey, my Dr. played birth control pill roulette with me for 7 months. I think I took 4 or 5 different ones. Finally, the only thing that helped was to stop taking birth control pills all together and start taking Metformin. I agree with Jana that three months is definitely not long enough to see a change in your body or your test results. Is your Dr. a ob/gyn or an endocrinologist? Maybe you should see an endo if you aren't or find a new one if you are. Let us know how it goes.

I went to the dr today. She is putting me back on Metformin and also provera to induce periods. I hope this works. I am also looking for a good diet to follow. I need to lose some major weight. Any ideas?
She is an Ob/GYN

I'm glad you are going back on the met, it really has been a wonder drug for me. As far as diets go the best one I have found is the IR diet. It is easy and nonrestrictive. Join us in the challenge forum, we have a couple going on right now! Good luck!
