Hey Kristi: to answer your question, I think Erin is a biology teacher. That is if I remember correctly.
I'd love to be able to go back to college and finich my criminal justic degree. I'm starting to think I'd like to be a criminal profiler. Stuff like this has always interested me.

Actually, Christina, that was my first passion. I wanted to do that, but as I got into my research, no one could give me a straight answer on just HOW to go about it. (This was several years ago...before CSI started the whole world on a crime scene obsession) Now I'm back in school and majoring in biology. I hope to work in the crime lab one day. I think I'd be better in the lab than the field. Although, I could be like Greg on CSI and go from the lab to the field. (But I know better than to use the restroom at the scene. LOL Did you see the season premiere?) From what I understand you may have to spend time in the lab before you could go into the field anyway. Yes, I did see the CSI season premiere. I that show. That's why I was pretty miffed that it was not on last night because of the debates. I know here in Pittsburgh we have a forensic science degree from I believe Duquense University. I know it is run by Dr. Cyril Wecht who was the coroner here for many years. I think he's now a forensics specialist. I know he has traveled to different places to assist in crime anaylsis.

My DH said that he didn't want me to have a career where nutballs would want to hurt me. That's why he didn't want me to work for the DA's office if I ever went to law school.

I completely understand. I always wanted to be a police officer. I was going to college to get my degree but between my dad and my ex they bullied me into switching majors to business and I ended up droping out of college. I wish I had never listened to them and just did what I wanted.

I wish I had never listened to them and just did what I wanted. You can still go back and do what you want can't you? I totally understand if it's a money thing though. That's where I'm at. I want to finish my degree, but I have no money to do it.

Right now my money situation is kind of up in the air but I do want to go back to school. I'm thinking now I'd like to be a criminal profiler and then maybe someday, long down the road, become a teacher in that field.

Jana, darling, we have a criminal justice program here. And I have 4 words for you..... Student Loans Government Grants That is how we are going right now. Yes, we will have to pay back the loans, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it. We are living on campus so that cuts back our expenses a LOT. Everything is included in our rent, including internet! Its not the nicest or largest or most prestigeous apartment in town, but it works out ok. OOOH Christina, I would LOVE to get a forensic science degree!! I wish we had something like that here. There is 1...count em, 1!...forensic class here. It is forensic anthropology and you have to be an upper level anthropology major to take it.

Ok, see, now you've lost your mind. LOL I am perfectly happy right here in Kentucky. I know, I've learned never say never. So I will just say that I am happier here than I was there. And as for Jonesboro, I've BTDT. I like Murray better.

I even went as far as to look around and see which schools around me have a forensics program. The one I mentioned before is a program for light weights unless it's the Master's Degree Program you're in. (That would not be me.) I also have this interest in Archaeology (blame Indiana Jones!). There's a great Archaeology program in a school about 40 minutes from me. The only draw back? They don't have Saturday college and I'd have to take class at night from 7:00 p.m to 9:30 p.m. Oh and Jana, I'm so not an Arkansas fan. Sorry.

Christina. I used to have a fastination with archeology. I thought it would be fun to go on a dig and go exploring but I don't like the heat. I'm more suited for an air conditioned climate! I'm not a real big fan of Arkansas either but I like the college down there better than the closest MO university. We do have a pretty good community college here in town so I'll probably start out there and then figure out where to go after that.

I'd love to go on a dig, but in order to get to the location it would probably involve my having to get on a plane and I don't fly. I'm terrified. I do think it would be cool to work in museum though. Ever read Patricia Cornwell? In one of her books she has to take some skeletal remains to a forensic anthropologist. I think that would be cool. And it would be air conditioned!!

Now that would be neat! I like reading Iris Johanson, she has a character that takes skulls and rebuilds they're facial features so they can identify them. I think that would be interesting.
